A police officer in Tennessee learned that the woman in front of him at the fast food drive-thru had paid for his breakfast, he paid her back in his own special way. It all happened one morning when Angel Brooks told the Hardees’ drive-thru worker to pay for the next customers’ breakfast.

She said that she and her family had been blessed with other people helping them out. She wanted to show kindness to a stranger. That person happened to be Monroe County Deputy Cody Yates. Since it was a small town, Yates was able to find out the name of the woman who paid for his food and he tracked her down on Facebook.

Yates learned that her husband, Jeff, has terminal pancreatic cancer and her daughter, Megan, suffers from cerebral palsy.

The whole situation made Yates realize that every single person you come into contact with is dealing with something in their lives that we don’t know about. He got his fellow officers together, and they raised $520 in an hour for Brooks and her family.
