Higgins is a loving German Shepherd. However, the traumatized dog ran back to the shelter just a few days after adoption. The workers realized that in his new home, Higgins was not happy, and no one came looking for him either.
However, since that day, it has been nearly six and a half years, and Higgins is still stuck in the shelter. Higgins confined himself in a lonely corner all day and grew older. His chances of finding a home have also decreased significantly.
Preble County’s Humane Society volunteers in Ohio said that poor Higgins has now spent 2,381 days in the shelter after being rejected and passed on several times.
The shelter has begged people to give this sweet dog a fair chance, and save him from the misery of an unfulfilled life. Let’s get the word out and help Higgins find a home soon forever.
Update: We are happy to share that Higgins has been adopted by a man named Brendon Reed! The couple immediately got along like a match made in heaven.
We’re so glad that Higgins got the chance he deserves. This has left us in tears!
