A beautiful wedding moment was captured when the father of the bride, Todd Bachman, stopped the procession, ran to the front row and grabbed her daughter’s stepdad, Todd Cendrosky, in order to share the honor of walking their daughter down the aisle.
To raise Brittany to become a beautiful grown-up woman today, her stepfather, Cendrosky helped a lot. So when Brittany got married last weekend, Bachman said there was only one way to show Cendrosky how much he and Peck appreciated him.
“For me to thank him for all the years of helping raise OUR daughter wouldn’t be enough. There is no better way to thank somebody than to assist me walking her down the aisle,” Bachman said.
The moment was captured by Ohio-based wedding photographer Delia D Blackburn. After the album was posted on his Facebook, millions of people have given them millions of “likes.”
“It was one of the most compassionate gestures toward a stepparent I’ve ever seen,” Blackburn told The Huffington Post. “The bride was in tears and overcome with emotion.”
In an interview with local news station WKYC-TV, the stepdad said he was totally taken aback by Bachman’s kind gesture.
“[He] came and grabbed my hand and said: ‘You worked as hard as I have. You’ll help us walk our daughter down the aisle,'” Cendrosky recalled. “I got weak in the knees and lost it. Nothing better in my life, the most impactful moment in my life.”
Merging two families wasn’t always well received. During the last fourteen years, there have been tough stretches.
“It hasn’t always been peaches and cream…by any stretch of the imagination,” Bachman shared with local news station WKYC-TV.
Bachman said he never would have imagined the story would go viral.
“A lot of families can relate to our situation,” Bachman said.
